Neighborhood Parade & Exxon Retirement Party

Yesterday we took the Bentley and Bailey to our neighborhood "WOW" (Washingston on Washington) parade...right down the street. Since we live in a "developing" neighborhood in a historic part of Houston the WOW group was created for preservation and to encourage neighborhood growth. The neighborhood has really changed since we moved in two years ago, but there are still Taqueria's on both side of us :)

The dogs were pretty cursious about the whole parade thing. They couldn't sit still long enough to figure out what was going on. As soon as the firetruck came Bailey jumped into Gabe's lap like a scared kid. It was hilarious. Even though he is more then twice Bentley's size he is has such a scaredy cat personality at times. Oh and notice the long hair...he's going for the shaggy dog look this spring. Unfortunately it hides his beautiful blue eyes!

Our local Houston "Art Cars" were of course a main feature. In any other city they would be considered junk but in Houston they are Art! There is actually an annual Art Car parade which brings out a lot of weirdos in town. It is neat to see everyone's creativity on display.

Bentley thought the lady with the iguana was pretty cool, but he would still rather meet and great all of the people. He's definitely a people dog

Last night we went to a fancy Exxon retirement party for one of Gabe's coworkers. We enjoyed a nice evening with friends and had WAY too much steak. We both highly recommend Pappa's Steakhouse for any special occasion. There was a photographer there who took several pictures of my "baby tummy" so I will post those as soon as we have them. This one was pretty decent....

Until then...take care!
Bethany
