Happy New Years 2007

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years everyone!

The last few weeks have been full of traveling, family, friends and lots of good food! We started off in Dallas on 12/21 and stayed until Christmas morning 12/25. We spent several days wrapping presents, cooking and Gabriel and Tino installed a new cable line in the kitchen. They accidentally CUT the phone line and ended up spending all day crawling in and out of walls trying to reconnect everything. Eventually everything was fixed and they cleared all the tools out of the kitchen. Of course we couldn't miss the traditional Spanish Posole so we had some for breakfast Christmas morning! And Bentley and Bailey enjoyed a little pampering, some new Christmas sweatshirts compliments of Tita, and a few bags of toys and bones.

Christmas day we headed off to Oklahoma with two snoring dogs and pretty much empty roads. We made it in only a few hours and checked into our hotels, gave the dogs a much needed bath, took a nap, then headed to Grammy's for Christmas brunch. We were blessed to have all of Bethany's family there, including the Valdez crew from North Carolina. We spent a few hours eating, opened presents and of course played with the dogs some more. This time there were THREE dogs (Bentley, Bailey and Suzanne's Westie - Zoe). "Baby Madrid" got several presents, uncluded a horrible Aggie onesie. Like a sooner is supposed to wear one of those! The next few days Tom and Suzanne left with Landon and we mainly hung out with EO and Wilma, the Minors, Valdez' family and of course Molly! We enjoyed lots of shopping, good food and some hot chilli :)

On 12/28 we headed off to Little Rock for a few days with the Mitchell crew. Friday night we had a pizza party with Cassie and Pete, Lisa and Andrew - Ethan and Mitchell. So much fun! Oh and the dogs had a BLAST! We stayed with Aunt Suzie and Uncle David who have 3 outside dogs and 2 grand-dogs running around. So we added to the crew and our munchkins had fun tearing up the backyard and getting nice and dirty!

We finally headed BACK to Dallas 12/31 and spent the evening with Gabe's family and their traditional New Years Eve party. Bentley and Bailey stayed with Zippity and Diri's house and we enjoyed a peaceful night at a hotel.

All in all things were great. We were and still are totally exhausted! Since we didn't get back to Houston until late 1/1 we both ended up going to sleep directly after work yesterday. I started my new job (which is great) and we are both fighting off being sick. Can't wait till we have a few days to rest over the weekend!

Hope everyone had a safe holiday season!
